SAR has remained the primary day school for the Riverdale Modern Orthodox community for over four decades. In more recent years, the geographical areas that have come to associate themselves with SAR has expanded throughout Westchester, into Connecticut, down to Manhattan, and over the bridge to Northern New Jersey. Wherever they are, families and friends of SAR are finding new ways to bring the magic of SAR into their homes.
In the greater Bronx community, SAR students regularly reach out to local organizations for social action projects. Led by teachers, administrators and parents, SAR students work with the Hebrew Home, the Bronx Jewish Council, food banks, clothing banks, Project Cure, Penny Harvest, and Project Hope. Our students have helped paint local synagogues and reached out to support the less fortunate in the Bronx. SAR also invites local veterans and service members to commemorate Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
