Please join us at one of our information sessions in order to learn more about our school, our curriculum & our community. At the information session you will have the opportunity to hear from Rabbi Krauss and other adminstrators as well as experience our school in session. Each session last approximately seventy five minutes. Upcoming session dates: November 19, December 17 and January 7th. Please click here to pre-register for a session.

Admission Process:
Click here to complete and submit the on-line application and the application fee of $150.
Once the completed application is received a meeting will be scheduled for the parents and student with the ELC Associate Principal Marcia Jacobowitz. During this meeting the family will be given a tour of the school. An initial assessment of the child's developmental skills is made through games and conversation with the child. Mrs. Jacobowitz values the opportunity to get to know each of the prospective families through this very personal application process.
Applications completed by January 22, 2013 (including school visits) will be notified by mid-February of the school's decision.
Scholarship Assistance: Applications for scholarship must be submitted on or before April 15, 2013. Admission and scholarship decisions are made independently of each other. If all scholarship materials are submitted and completed by January 22, 2013, then the family will be notified of the scholarship committee's decision at approximately the same time as the Admissions committee decision.

Application & Student Evaluation
Click here to complete the on-line application. Once all materials are submitted (application, test scores and application fee) a parent meeting with Rabbi Krauss and student meetings for screenings and class participation will be setup. The school psychologist conducts an informal interview and brief academic screening of the prospective student. The prospective student also visits a class at his/her academic grade level both to observe and to take part in lessons.
The parents will also meet with the school psychologist to discuss his/her child and the opportunities they see by transferring to SAR.
A tour of the school is provided to both parents and student.
SAR will notify the family of its decision in writing.

Admissions Process

- Application Complete and submit the online Application for Admission. (Application Fee is $150. The application fee is waived for students from SAR Academy.)
- Permission for Release of Student Records Submitted. Submit the Permission for Release of Student Records to the student’s present school. The student’s records must be sent directly from the student’s present school to our Admissions office.
- Board of Jewish Education High School Entrance Examination. Each student is required to take the BJE examination and have the scores reported to our Admissions Office.
- Teacher Recommendation. The teacher recommendation is considered part of the application and must be forwarded to our Admissions Office by the teacher directly. (SAR Academy students are not required to submit a teacher recommendation form.)
- Scholarship Assistance. Parents who submit a scholarship application on or before January 24, 2013 will be informed of the committee’s determination when decision letters are mailed. SAR High School will provide scholarship assistance to families who meet application and scholarship assistance deadlines, based on individual need. We seek to ensure that no qualified student is prevented from attending for monetary reasons. Click here for more information or to apply for scholarship.
- Interview. Upon submission of the completed application, the Admissions Office will call to arrange an individual interview for students and their parents.
Final deadline for submission of all application materials: December 31, 2012. (Application deadline for students from SAR Academy is November 12, 2012)
